Accessibility Statement
Bear Plumbing, Inc. is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, or keyboard-only navigation.
Our Commitment
This website is designed and built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA — the current, widely-adopted standard for web accessibility. We review the site against these guidelines on an ongoing basis, both with automated testing tools and manual keyboard and screen-reader testing, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time checklist.
Measures We've Taken
- A "Skip to main content" link for keyboard users
- Keyboard-operable navigation, menus, forms, the FAQ accordion, and the service-detail popups
- Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
- A color palette checked against WCAG contrast requirements for text and buttons
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative icons hidden from screen readers
- A pause control on our autoplaying homepage background video, and automatic pausing for visitors who have reduced-motion enabled in their operating system
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and labeled form fields throughout the site
- Focus management in pop-up dialogs — focus moves into the dialog when it opens and returns to where you were when it closes
Conformance Status
We believe this website currently conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA based on both automated testing (including the axe-core accessibility engine) and manual keyboard and screen-reader testing performed as part of an accessibility review. As with any website, new content or features can occasionally introduce issues faster than they're caught, so we don't claim perfection — we treat this as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time certification.
Compatibility
This site is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on desktop and mobile, and with common assistive technology such as VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, and TalkBack.
